I do leave my kids home when shopping or contain them in a cart!

And, I can guarantee they are not going to pee on the floor, chew/lick anything in the store, bite/scratch any strangers, bark and get into fights with other people in the store or, approach any strangers who might be allergic to them and rub up on them.

Dogs don't need to be in the grocery store (unless a true service dog)!

I notice there is a constant cruel/malicious/spiteful tone in posts about dog owners on DCUM. Often unwarranted.

It’s not just in this thread; it’s in many dog threads. Also, I notice this same tone in threads about single people/posters (often with these same words and phrases).

I can’t help but wonder if this over-the-top acerbic reaction is a way of justifying one’s own lifestyle. For the life of me, I’ll never understand why someone would tell someone that no one likes them and they are pathetic because they find companionship in a dog.

Ladies (I doubt there are men doing this), people who make life choices that are different from yours shouldn’t threaten you. Really, there is no need to disparage others because they are childless, single, possibly lonely, ….or other things you deem to be lesser than. Remember, you might find yourself this way one day.

Plus, you might just be wrong.

Wrong, nobody is anti-dog. That's just a facile attempt to distract from the real issue, which is that more and more dog owners are breaking the rules left and right.

Many dog owners are getting increasingly selfish and rude, pure and simple. No consideration for other people anymore.

Don’t bring your pet dog to stores and especially not to places that sell food. It’s gross. That’s not a personal attack, it’s just common decency. I notice Mr Wordy up there didn’t bother to police the posts by nasty dog owners on this thread.
