NC Courage is on another level, but otherwise Arlington, Loudoun, VDA, and Union all had great results from a weekend in North Carolina. Arlington, in particular, seems to be winning big against good competition in ECNL and East Coast Premier. VDA also did well against out of state competition in VDA friendlies. In other preseason tournaments Union and FCV were good competition for each other, but a step above other teams in the OBGC 07 bracket, splitting two games with FCV ultimately winning the final. Vienna beat MD United to win the 08 bracket OBGC. FCV, Metro, and Vienna have also started strong in GA and RL regular season play.
A few teams would obviously be better if there were not so much talent dilution and the best of the best gravitated towards those clubs. Overall though, the quality of play in our local area looks to be higher than some other regions even though top players are more consolidated elsewhere. We must be doing something right.
VDA beats NC Courage at Jefferson Cup but NC Courage is on another level and VDA is in the mix McLean, Loudoun, and Arlington (teams who have been and will be blown out by vda)? That’s funny.

This is pretty spot on. A little more mutual respect can a long ways.

That’s a pretty awesome ranking.
Lol. VDA is #35. Richmond United is #30.

Agreed, 09 team is definitely much better. Loudoun 08 ECNL team lost to NC Courage this weekend 5-0 and the score could have been even more lopsided. They are OK, but not at the level of 09 team.

Richmond and Herndon don't have have CCL teams at 08 girls age group. Herndon also out.
Loudoun, Beach, Soca, Fredericksburg, Legacy, and Arlington all left CCL.
Valor (SYA and CYA collaboration) and Mclean Green joined this year.
Remaining teams for 08 Girls: FC Frederick, Valor, Alexandria, NVSC, LMVSC, VA Rush, Mclean Green (2nd team leftovers from Union), SYC Academy (2nd team leftovers from Union)
I feel the worst for FC Frederick as they will have a tough time finding competition this year. Perhaps Valor could be decent I guess.
Herndon team left for another club, I can't recall where they went. SYC team is solid. They beat Arlington GA, Baltimore Armour academy, BRYC ECNL and Bethesda ECNL last year and were undefeated in CCL. You can call them leftovers all you want, but even with some departures for Union, it is a solid team. VA Valor is solid too. They lost to Loudoun ECNL 0-1 a couple weeks ago, which shows that they were competitive game against an ECNL level opponent.
Not being negative but Loudoun won 2-0 and controlled the entire game. Valor certainly had nothing to hang their heads over, they are a tough team but it wasn't a competitive scrimmage. Frederick and Va Rush will be the top Teams.
The score in their latest game was 1-0 at the East Coast Premier Cup so it was not a scrimmage. It was as competitive as any 1-0 game.
You played the 09 Loudoun ECNL team. All of the Loudoun teams played up in that Tournament. The scrimmage vs the 08 team was at Centreville High School in August, that may have even been Valor's 07 team
Did Loudoun U17 ECNL, which lost its last two game 1-7 and 1-10, also play up?
