My guess is because 11 and U aren't vaccinated, and 14 is probably old enough to clearly recognize that they are a teen for purposes of whether they would automatically be expected to mask up.

Covid-related restrictions on outdoor pools have been dictated by local authorities all along. In MoCo at least, the guidelines have been overly restrictive, not restrictive enough, often unclear, and even more often contradictory. Recently the county completely threw the doors open and left it to the individual pools to decide what to do. Quite a switch. Our pool has take a gradual approach to lifting restrictions being most mindful of kids under 12 (the unvaccinated). Better to think it through than just walk away. In the end, each person and family needs to decide what makes them the most comfortable when it comes to going to an outdoor pool.

Well lots of people cough and sneeze during allergy season.

I wonder if we were at the same place. I heard someone coughing repeatedly and was really surprised. I couldn’t I’d the person or I might have said something

Personally I would love all the crazy mask people to NOT go to the pool if it makes them uncomfortable. I am vaccinated so I have no worries. My kids are not, but they are outdoors where transmission is very low. I probably will not be allowing them to do indoor playing with other kids for a bit.

Many vaccinated people, unfortunately, do not understand how their vaccines work. So they continue to wear masks because they believe they can still get the disease and die, or that they can spread it. Neither is true.

I agree with you, so we paid for summer pool. Was there today, and it was jam packed with kids several of them coughing and with runny noses. So aggravating. This is why we can’t have nice things. Keep your sick kids home!!
