I keep wondering if Chauvin will take the stand and be forced to answer this question.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:What should Chauvin have done? Should he have tasered Floyd? Shot him in the foot or leg? Maybe have an additional officer sit on him, but sit on the back and legs while restraining his arms? If Floyd was high and uncontrollable and larger, stronger and overpowering the officers, what should have been done? Murder is never the answer but how would a better officer deal with this?
A literal police officer is currently on the stand WHILE YOU ARE WRITING THIS saying Chauvin's use of force was "totally unnecessary" when taking into account the facts, the department policies, and their training. On what basis do you dispute this expert testimony?
Explain specifically what should have been done to restrain a potentially combative person who is much larger and stronger? How would a responsible officer do this alone?
He wasn't alone. There were three other officers there with him. Next question.
Yes. Why though did Chauvin initially place his knee on George Floyd’s neck? How did this event transpire? I didn’t see body cam of this. And where were the other officers when this was happening?

That was my reaction too
This is key for the defense because Chauvin clearly kept Floyd in a hold - a hold that is allowable at least momentarily to subdue someone - long past the point when Floyd had stopped struggling. They have to have some excuse for why he stayed on him like that. I don’t think “the crowd distracted me” will fly but clearly they think it will help.

I also, having followed he trial and saw the videos, think that Chauvin might have known G.Floyd because one of the bystanders has seen Chauvin five days ago in the area, so it seems the police was frequently around in the neighborhood and because of his physique (and maybe drug use), he may have stood out.
Chauvin did not have his hands in the pocket but he had black gloves and his hand towards the upper thigh.

Anonymous wrote:Floyd, right at the very beginning of the body cam video was very combative stating that he was claustrophobic and requested to sit in the front of the patrol car. He went on to say he wasn’t a bad guy and couldn’t breathe and his wrists hurt. He was fighting the cops the entire time. At the end if the body cam video where Floyd was exiting the patrol car onto the ground I heard someone say “heart attack” unsure whose words they were.

Another sign that he was not a threat.
Floyd must have been a threat at some point though. Why the need to restrain then? No way should Chauvin have attempted or have been expected to do this alone though. Why didn’t any other officer assist?

There is several video footage on this, google it and hold your breath because it's very sad.
