This is posted on the PA talk soccer forum.

“ Yeah and Warrington 05 beat bloated and overrated GA clubs like Arlington 2-0. Can’t imagine how bad GA is if one of their best clubs is losing to township teams. Yikes.”

The Jeff Cup results are telling. No GA teams in any of the U15 finals. ECNL covered each of the finals for top 4 divisions (w/ ECNL Mid-Atlantic teams winning 3 of the 4).
U16 Championship Group: 4 of top 5 results are ECNL.....congrats to Sporting Delaware GA for breaking the trend.
U17 Championship Group: Top 5 results are ECNL teams

You mean a showcase hosted by ECNL club in the city of ECNL's HQ didn't put GA clubs in the top brackets? Color me shocked!!

Your logic makes it worse....if they were in lower divisions and STILL couldn’t place, what does that say about GA?

I think the real question for the DMV area is how did the local clubs do? I could care less about this ‘my league is better than yours nonsense.’ All that is relevant locally is where should I send my kid to be the most competitive.

I know we all love to see FCV do poorly because the parents and coaches are so egotistical and believe local results mean anything, but mention should be made about the abysmal showing by the 05 Arlington team. They lost 2 and tied 1 and failed to score a single goal. The move to ECNL is going to be a tough one for them.

You're kidding right? You honestly believe that Arlington's 05's will do worse than 10th place Loudoun, 11th place VDA and 12th place BRYC?

LOL

Yes. I think they will struggle. They’ll do better than BRYC, but beyond that, nothing is a guarantee. They are a mediocre GA team, so moving to ECNL isn’t going to be an easy transition for them. They got the spot FCV desperately wanted, we’ll see what they do with it. Their Jefferson Cup outing was horrendous, that’s not debatable. Time will tell about the rest.

All but one NoVA ECNL team in this age group struggles and sucks. What is the difference if Arlington does? Seriously, just stop acting like Arlington is in for some "rude awakening" when pretty much all the local representation are an embarrassment.

You lost to a NJ town team. Yeah, last place in ECNL seems to be 1st place in GAL.

Likely because ECNL has a different level of competition. It will be like Arlington being promoted to A from B.

Different level of competition? These are diluted watered down teams. 3 of the 4 NoVA ECNL teams in this age group absolutely suck. Arlington will not be out of place with that group.

You’re a frustrated parent.

GAL is dead
FCV not getting ECNL

Lol. Come on dude.

What?

Arrogant statement, no?

No, not at all. Parents need to find clubs that will offer a competitive landscape.

Having looked at the results and placements it seems like Pipeline, Richmond, Bethesda, Arlington, VDA, McLean and FCV are competitive options across all the age groups.

Clubs don’t offer competitive landscapes. Leagues do. This is the point of discussion. In this area, Top kids will be ECNL. That’s it and that’s all. GA is over. Jeff Cup should have shown you that. Get your kid on the best ECNL team they can make and go from there. IMHO

Bottom of class at Cornell.

What does this mean?

I think it’s saying that despite being at the bottom of the class, the pp went to an Ivy League school so he is awesome

If this is true why were the local GA clubs placed in higher brackets than the local ECNL teams? It seems like being surrounded by competitive kids during training is more valuable to development than a couple of games against out of state/region teams every year? IMHO, not even the ECNL club that hosted the tournament felt like the local ECNL teams were competitive enough to be in the top bracket. Clubs develop players, leagues do not.
