But ACPS said the choice was NOT BINDING. That is the issue and ACPS chooses to ignore it.
Look, I remember reading it very carefully and thinking that the choice we made, if we chose DL, was binding but not vice versa. I don't have the newsletters from back then but we discussed it in our household for about a week before choosing DL. When I clicked the button I had my kids right beside me and they knew we were "stuck" with our choice when I selected DL. I don't know why I would be singled out for a DIFFERENT message than you but perhaps they singled you out on purpose??? JK. I am sure we got the same letter. Maybe you didn't read yours.
Your impression of what something you can't even recall said from a few months ago is totally irrelevant. They absolutely, without question, did not say or even intimate the choice to stay virtual was binding.
But, again, everyone should have expected it because ... why wouldn't they do this.
I have sent email asked specifically if we can change the choice later on, and was told it was not binding.

People are discussing two different issues:
1) the choice was presented as non-binding--I don't think anyone is defending this
2) whether or not people were informed about the survey

Even assuming that this is all true for you and your family personally, I can 100 percent guarantee you that GWMS or Hammond, where there are hundreds of kids per grade (more than at my child's entire ES) and up to 7 teachers per student for various subjects, is not doing this.
At Hammond they definitely did. I know Hammond teachers and staff who have told me that they did, and I believe them.

Now they are sending us texts and emails (5 between my husband and I) showing us how to "prepare for returning to the classroom" during Hybrid.
Except, they told us we can't change our selection from virtual to hybrid. So why are they sending us this?
Is this just to taunt us?
Or are they actually that incompetent and unprofessional that they can't understand how rude and confusing such information is to people in our situation??

Additionally, I received emails AND a phone call from MY child’s school confirming our preference. How in the world you got that I “never received contact or chose not to respond” from that is beyond me...
