Who’s an armchair racist here? Someone who says they aren’t going to “follow the direction of black people without question”? I’m not doing that for anyone unless they’re pointing a gun at me.
What wild shenanigans are you expecting to be asked to do?
There has been a lot of violence this week. Police violence. Protestor violence. There is also a global pandemic going on and social distancing guidelines in place. These are not absurd concerns.
It also doesn't say "listen to the official organizers.". It literally says any rando black person.
We're just responding to what was written. If people stopped defending it and just admitted it was overboard this thread would have died an early death.

Because from page 1 people who claim to be associated with the movement have endorsed the list.
The movement is black people who want police not to suffocate them and their allies. It’s made up of all types of people, and yes that includes some who want you to shut up. The thing is, you should want police not to suffocate black people even if some of them hurt your feelings.
Once again — if the civil rights organizations of the 60s could recruit white people to not only help, but assist in leading the movement, BLM can do so today.
You do not get it.
This is not the 60s. Man. If only the 60s has been enough.

Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:I like these rules. I'm annoyed by the performative element of white people protesting. I don't think it accomplishes anything and is just there to show other people they're not racist - specifically if they're taking selfies, etc. Civil Rights peaceful protests were effective because they were backed by an extremely organized movement. The current protests will only be effective if the BLM, etc, (generally run by people of color) are actually allowed to run the protests according to their goals and methods. So to me that says white people should show up and do what their told. If you can't do that, then that says to me you're there to show off how unracist you are, rather than to actually make change.
Agree. Firmly.
