Brave kids.
Wonder where this guy works...

PW's profile pic on Strava, a cyclist website, does look like the man in the video. Incidentally, it gives interesting insight into the mindset of serious cyclists: times for his DC-Bethesda commute and recreational lunch ride are faithfully recorded, as well as recent achievements (local rides with best times listed, when applicable).
As a nerdy person, I would totally admire his dedication to his craft if it weren't for the fact that it also means he's one of these cyclists who zip by everyone on the trail in a dangerous way, just to get that best time! No wonder he swears and assaults people. THEY ARE IN THE WAY.![]()
That guy looks younger to me, although maybe it is an old picture on Strava.

We’ve lost our collective minds. Rioting and looting is practically condoned, but the AG is getting directly involved in the case of an idiot on a bike.

Yes, he grabbed something from a girl. What is was he was grabbing is unclear. He then seems to charge towards someone. What happens then isn’t clear from the camera. He may have run into or knocked someone over, or he may have grabbed something from that person. Again, exactly what happens can’t be seen from the video. There is no indication from the video (or anything else I have seen reported) that anyone was hurt.
He almost certainly acted improperly. He may have committed a misdemeanor. Nothing I have seen suggests this case should get the attention it has, and it wouldn’t if it didn’t supposedly involve someone upset about posters concerning Floyd and related issues.
By grabbing her arm like that, he committed assault.
Technically an unwanted touching of any sort is assault. But if you think someone would normally be charged for yanking something out of someone’s hands, you are sorely mistaken. Depending on the context it might be theft, but that would be the far more likely charge, at least that would stick.
He grabbed her arm in order to pull the roll of tape off- she wasn’t holding it in her hand.
Regardless, he ran the boy down with his bike and that would definitely qualify as assault.
That would technically be assault, although it isn’t entirely clear from the video that that is what occurred.
But even assuming that could be proven beyond a reasonable doubt, it is not the type of assault that would normally be prosecuted and, if prosecuted, the consequences would be minimal.
As another poster has recounted, even far more physical assaults that lead to actual injuries often have modest consequences.
I couldn’t care less if he just gets a slap on the wrist, because the public condemnation and humiliation will be epic.

I will also echo the comments that even if he is upset about littering or whatever nonsense people are saying, there are civilized ways to address those concerns. It is not okay to put your hands on someone, approach them in a threatening manner or charge at someone with your bike. None of you would be okay with someone treating your child like this for "littering".

Yesss!!
On NextDoor he has been the subject of other complaints before this latest. Dude has a serious problem. This Lance Armstrong wannabe thinks it’s ok to assault kids? Because he disagrees with their fliers?
Unlikely, but interesting this is the narrative that made this viral. I'd bet the man had no idea what they were putting up.
