I'm a little grossed out that the actress who plays Devi is only 19 though. I get it's not real life but if my 19 year old were making out with a 30 year old in real life...creepy.

I completely agree! My 13 year old daughter who is half Indian/half Caucasian adores this show, and the friendship between Devi & Aneesa is especially powerful for her to see.

Ramona Young is 28 in real life.


But she can pass for a high schooler. Paxton looks way older than 18.


Ramona looks mid-20s to me. Paxton on the other hand--I was shocked to find out he was 30. He really has a young face to me.


Except for his wrinkles.

Watching it now an the overly-woke teacher cracks me up. So well done. Also lover her interactions w/ Niecy Nash as a therapist.

The Grandma is funny too. Reminds me of my relatives (talking about her ailments, etc.).

I loved her mom’s relationship with Common. I was rooting for her to have some happiness of her own. Hope this theme comes back in the next season.
