If that changes maybe EDP becomes an option too. But first choice is ECNL, and that is still on the table.

Thanks for sharing. It makes sense from club viewpoint.

However the msg from last to the travel teams is confusing...
"While we are disappointed with the news, please know that the technical staff and I have been working diligently to choose the proper pathway for all of our loyal families in light of this development. I actively participate in meetings with DA clubs throughout the country discussing options for the future of league play for the most competitive level in the club."

Looks like from the msg the MLS/GAL are in discussion too.

It's getting late so thinking a little slow right now, but why would people be worried about this situation involving a private HS coach?

And this tells you everything you need to know ECNL and the problem with pay to play. Who the hell needs to go to private school in NOVA? In Arlington?

It's not soccer related, but to answer your question, families who care about their kids being in a faith-based, smaller learning environment where there's a sense of community. Works for us.

LOL. No former DA players from Arlington are coming to BRYC.

Not every DA player from Arlington can fit at McLean. Some could go. They will not replace that whole team. So where would they go if not BRYC?

What whole team? There are SIX whole ECNL teams. No just your daughters age group.

Are you not reading the post? I don’t care what team or age group my comment was to say that Arlington (whatever age group) can’t take over the whole McLean roster so they could go to Bryc validating the above persons other teammate parents that are nervous. Do you understand now or are you still confused?

A lot of people are worried, although most wont admit to it. They should be lots of talent spread around the DMV that will be Consolidated now. Tell them to get to work. This sport is about to get a lot more competitive.

I assume this is for very young teams? The older teams at Arlington are not as strong already as the teams in ECNL boys. VDA, BRYC, McLean or Loudoun.

Very young? Let's just look at ECNL age and then U12 (which these clubs denominate as pre-ECNL). Here are the local VA teams that are ranked higher than the highest ranked VA ECNL boys teams:

U12: Alexandria

U13: Arlington DA, SYC, Alexandria, Sterling, Great Falls Reston

U14: Alexandria, Herndon, Arlington, DA, Doradus, Arlington Red

U15: Alexandria, Arlington DA, SYC

U16: Arlington DA

So yes, if I am in the ECNL, and want to play the best in each age group, looks like there are a number of other clubs above the best VA ECNL teams

You got trolled.

Take one more

"U16: Arlington DA"

Only Arlington family calls U16 team as DA team, everyone else knows that there is no DA for U16 at Arlington.

LOL.

Haven’t we already discussed how meaningless these rankings are... Whatever math is used behind the scenes, it does not take in strength of competition. So if a team is cleaning up in a weak league they rank higher. It is no different than the gotsoccer silliness.

It's not gotsoccer - it's youthsoccr -- and it's more objective than blanket statements like "All older ECNL boys teams are better than Arlington." It's a reality check It does take into account strength of competition - what you said is completely false. Strength of competition is infinitely more important than win-loss record in their rankings. Can we just stop flat out lies like this?

W H O C A R E S.
None of this matters. It wont change a thing. Get over it. Deals are done. I am an ASA parent DA parent. And I pretty much know that they are not getting a slot on ECNL considering nothing has been announced. And, I am pretty sure we are not getting MLS either. Time for everyone to just move on and do what you feel is best for your kid. None of the teams listed above will be together or the same when the game starts again. The kids are going to be swapping teams all over the place. Sheesh....

You can let others decide, but bullsh$t is bullsh$t and I call it out when I see it. I am sorry you don't. It may explain a lot.

Ok. I will take your lead then. I call you a TOOL. One who believes his own bullsh$t. How did I do?

Doing great in showing why people run from Arlington. But at least you got the spelling right. Maybe move on polysyllabic words and figure out all the math stuff and algorithms work on youth soccer. I suspect you have the time.

Hahahahaha. I am from FCV.

*ex-DA

Point taken but you are wrong, there is no current DA so ex-DA is a wrong logic. You could emphasis your point saying DA (demised). And no need be so upset with demised DA even it did not take your child, there were better kids, remember? Or you were messed up by joining DA then now have to figure out the whole thing for your DD again, you made decision, be responsible.
