He is awful and and an embarrassment to the state. Shouldn't be in office anymore but he's a dem so he gets away with being a racist. Which was he again... the Klan guy or the blackface? Coonman, right? Awesome.

Same.

Ditto. He's doing a great job, and his soaring job approval ratings this Spring shows that most Virginias agree. So, the opposite of Trump.

+1 He's done a great job.

+1
Feel fortunate that his background is in medicine.

He’s a great example of why term limits work. He made the unpopular calls. And in NOVA where we are (mostly) complying with guidance, we are in good shape. And lucky. For a major metro area, we don’t have that many college kids coming back. Just Mason, which isn’t as large or bad as it could be.

Last time I checked Richmond VA was the capitol of the Confederacy during the Civil War. Union won the war. Now Northam has decided the "American flag, deemed ‘target’ for protesters, ordered off Virginia Capitol construction site"Now there are in descending order of violence- demonstrations, protests, burning buildings, looting/vandalism, injury, death. Plus there is a pandemic reducing jobs, income. Death includes some in the prior new country known as CHAZ, CHOP in Seattle and a fine retired police chief who had a shop. Large swath of Minneapolis reduced to rubble and no exception made for any ethnic group with a business.

The newspaper in the nations capitol, The Washington Post, doesn't cover the guillotine placed in front of it's owner's residence in Washington DC. We appreciate the existence of Amazon in this pandemic. Northam and VA decided that construction workers are not allowed to fly a huge USA flag in Richmond for the 4rth of July. That is covered in the WaPo

Well if the sight of the American flag in America leads to violent feelings that may turn into action, surely the answer is to remove it.

What piss me off is seeing people getting so close at others while wearing masks made out of old clothes.

I'm not surprised Northram wont let bars reopen. In fact, I would be super pissed if he did allow them to reopen.

I'm fine with that.

Late news tonight:

Governor Northam Prohibits Congregating in Bars, Stresses Caution As Virginia Moves to Phase Three

With cases rising in other states, Virginia will maintain current restrictions on bar seating, congregating

RICHMOND—Governor Ralph Northam today announced that bar seating will remain prohibited in restaurants as the Commonwealth moves into Phase Three at midnight tonight. While key health indicators in Virginia are improving, the Governor made clear that he is taking a cautious approach and is prepared to implement tighter restrictions if needed.

To reduce the likelihood of patrons gathering in bar areas without observing social distancing guidelines, bar seating and congregating areas of restaurants will remain closed except for those passing through. Restaurants may use non-bar seating in the bar area, as long as a minimum of six feet between tables is provided.

“I am watching what is happening in other states—we are taking a cautious approach as we enter Phase Three and maintaining the current restrictions on bar areas,” said Governor Northam. “In Virginia, our hospitalization rates have fallen, our percentage of positive tests continues to trend downward, and we are conducting more than 10,000 tests each day. We want these trends to continue, but if our public health metrics begin moving in the wrong direction, I will not hesitate to take action to protect the health and safety of our communities.”....
