As much as I love the poster always salivating to stick it to South Fairlington, the truth is it’ll probably be another neighborhood like parts of Columbia Forest or as mentioned above, the apartments along 4 mile run or the pike (all of which are far less middle class than Fairlington) that’ll probably move out of Abingdon.

No. It means apartments south of columbia pike will go to an expanded Barcroft. It will make Barcroft like Carlin Springs. The CIP anticipates growth on the west end of the Pike, meaning move the kids to Barcroft. I heard it directly from a school board member.
No, because that SB member doesn’t know their a** from their elbow. That’s not happening. Abingdon needs relief, not Barcroft. Some bus riders to Abingdon are taking a bus to the half-empty and adjacent Drew.

Yes. MANY more students will have to change schools via boundary changes if we don’t move programs. Not sure people realize that...
Even after they move schools, every school will have boundary changes.

Can anyone from Key explain how their magical alternative proposal creates more seats in the R-B corridor than adding a whole school worth of neighborhood seats? I don’t understand where they think these seats are coming from. Are they really just pretending like pushing Long Branch kids west and filling those with kids from Courthouse is creating more seats than moving immersion and filling Long Branch AND Key with neighborhood seats?

That and is there a reason they aren’t using the stage? Or the stairwell? Seriously I think that sometimes the administration at that school really will do anything to make their point.
The stage is used as music classroom now. Probably used by the other music teacher during that time.
They do lots of small group work, parent meetings, and testing in the stairway already.
Have you been there recently? It’s beyond FULL. Several new kids just registered in January. It’s just going to get worse as these new residential buildings open.

They backed off the swap and it came roaring back as these school moves. If they punt again it's just going to come around again as a boundary change option next fall. I think they have realized that.
