In order of polling favorite.

Moore: Inspirational story. Ambitious. Backed by Wall Street $.

Franchot: Takoma Park, party machine, bitter, political hack.

Baker: Lazy campaign with no animating purpose except that a lot of elderly people in PG County have muscle memory voting for him.

Perez: Even bigger party hack. Takoma Park. Proven incompetent in leadership roles.

King: Not clear if campaign is a fundraising con.

Isn’t Moore from takoma park too?

Does anyone have similar insight on the R candidates?

Schulz is Hogan‘s hand-picked successor, and Cox and Ficker are crazy.

Kelly Schulz will literally be an extension of Larry Hogan, and has my vote over the clown car of a democratic field.

If Schulz makes it out of the Republican primary.

Yeah, what world do folks live in that they think this is even possible?

Appreciate this rundown. In my area Franchot seems popular but I think it’s Moore’s to lose.

Anyone have thoughts on Gansler? He’s not gotten any traction but I know a few people who support him.

Her major ding is that she’s a republican. Republicans like Larry Hogan don’t come by often.

As long as she doesn’t say something stupid about abortion, I think she has a good chance to win.

Yes as long as the Dems Lee choosing super progressives in the primary, we will continue have moderate Republican governors.

+1 focus on the economy, jobs, affordable homes, transportation issues; keep school within local control-- both the left and right need to stop using public schools to score political points.

Stay sane and use common sense regarding covid measures. Hogan took covid very seriously, which I think the vast majority of Marylanders very much appreciated, but we can't live in a world where we mask until there is zero covid.

I saw some sign around town for someone with an unusual name -- starts with an H? I think. Anyone know who that person is?

Really, thanks for informing us that Steele, a Republican, would first have to win the Republican primary. I think the implied point was that one Democrat at least would consider voting for Steele in the general, depending presumably on who the Democrats nominate.

So, what do you think are the chances of him doing that?

Why not? Are you implying that Republicans wouldn't nominate a black guy? They did in my state (VA), on the Republican ticket, and I voted for him. Unfortunately, the Democrats won the general. (Now if I used the same tact that liberals use, I'd say "those Democrats wouldn't vote for the black guy. They're raaaaaacist!")

But I know it's all about policy, color irrelevant.

I have no opinion on any of the possibles, but this is so dumb. Did you forget Obama was POTUS for 2 two terms, and that he is a Dem?

Michael Steele - the highest profile Black R in the RNC was pushed out. Steele endorsed Biden and is trying to get Rs to not support Trump, though that is a losing battle.
