If so, how are you coping with it?
I feel you. The two party system is so antiquated.
I am socially progressive and fiscally libertarian. Luckily there is a perfect candidate for millions like myself -- Andrew Yang. He doesn't judge the voters of either political spectrum, and only talks about the merits of a set of forward thinking solutions. Yang doesn't believe illegal immigration is the cause of the loss of millions jobs in the swing states. But he understands why many people felt that way. He intends to solve that problem.

I am an atheist and pro choice. I don’t care about gay marriage either way. I support school choice and charter schools. I also support science.
I am strongly opposed to illegal immigration, political correctness gone mad, social justice warfare, and everything along these lines. I guess I am neither liberal nor progressive in this sense.
This is me also. Though, I am an immigrant who is already a citizen. I feel the same way as you do about all of those topics. Have traditionally voted Democratic.
I dislike Trump as a person. But I think both Democrats and Republicans are equally corrupt.
Trump has my vote in 2020.
PP, look at the issues yourself. Watch the debates. Read about the positions of the Democrat candidates and see who you agree with more.
Both parties are craptastic. So, vote based on the issues.
So you want to vote for Trump based on the issues? Are you insane?
Agree that you PP’s seem to have little in common with Trump. But little in common with popular Dem candidates either! Hence the notion of “feeling lost.”
This is what I hate in current politics: the idea that as a Democrat I have to be on board with the “platform.” Or you’re not a a viable candidate if you don’t agree with a “platform.”
Why don’t we have a Dem candidate who is:
Strong on crime
Against illegal immigration (but humane in handling deportations)
Pro environment
Pro choice
Pro science
Pro consumer protections
Reduce tax burden for middle and upper middle class
Robust foreign policy with reinvestment in diplomatic relations
Strengthen public education standards (as they have been incredibly weakened!)
I'm the PP who was called troll/racist/amoral above.
Yes, exactly. That person would have my vote. Democrat or Republican. Because, really, I don't want to vote for Trump.
But, I don't see that in any of them. Tough on crime? Nope. Against illegal immigration? Nope. Reducing the middle class tax burdern? Nope. Not going to happen with Medicare for All.
You are not being honest. Or you are getting your information from dishonest sources. At some point you need to take responsibility for your choices and your lack of real information.
Can you explain what is dishonest?
Just because you disagree with someone, doesn’t mean that person is being dishonest. I see nothing dishonest about either post.
NP. I'll take "tough on crime" for 800, Alex.
"Tough on crime" is coded language for the system that has resulted in 10% of our adult population in incarcerated in for-profit prison. It a system where the decision to incarcerate and the length of incarceration have been proven to have strong racial bias against black and latino defendants at both the state and federal level. We've had multiple cases where the juvenile justice system has involved direct cash payments for conviction and the prison lobby spends millions of dollars every year to secure their revenue stream. Meanwhile, violent crime continues to be down across the board.
On a somewhat related note, Prohibition has proven to be 1) completely ineffective in reducing drug usage and 2) disastrous for American foreign policy and stability in Latin America.

As soon as someone complains about the Democrats moving to the left, I know this person is either really young or really new to politics.
Go look at where Republicans stood from the 50s to the 70s.
Or disingenuous.
Yeah. Several D candidates are Rs by the standards of previous generations.

You are a dem my dear. An atheist in the repub party? Ah no. Most dems are opposed to illegal immigration - we just want a humane solution. Kicking out DACA kids who don’t even speak their country’s language seems harsh.
No, Democrats want open borders.
No we don’t. That’s a lie that Faux News spreads to republicans about democrats that is not true. We don’t want open borders. We want a refined immigration policy that addresses security, humanitarian, political, population growth, labor law and economic considerations.
+1
Don't believe the propaganda.
I'm not the PP.
What propaganda?
I watched the Democratic debates (because I would like to vote for a Democrat candidate, since Trump is such a putz).
Several Democratic candidates want to decriminalize border crossings. What effect will that have on illegal immigration?
Several Democratic candidates support free health insurance to illegal immigrants. Will that increase or decrease the number of illegal immigrants in my town?
Can you point out a clear position where the Democrats have said they will try to curtail illegal immigration?
