And you all just assume that the people committing these crimes have childhood trauma.

Ignorance is bliss.

I actually envy your simplistic thinking. It's so much easier than seeing the problems in society.

So, explain to me how we regulate rage and trauma?

Go ahead-i’ll Wait

I do not doubt that there are lots of effed up people out there. More than other countries, though? Don’t think so

We DO give those effed up people easy access to high powered killing machines, though

You appear to be a perfect example, my friend. Instead of trying to see this side, you attack.

You may not like her. You may think she's a lunatic. But her platform is absolutely spot on. If children's needs aren't addressed, they grow up with trauma. This applies to children in wealthy and poor households. In fact, the super entitled kids are the ones to fear the most.

So yes, this means a shift in monies. But we need to move from a reactive to a proactive state. Just the other day, my pal who's a counselor in a very challenging school, had to restrain a 7 yo who was trying to hurt himself and others. This is more the norm than not. If these needs and concerns aren't addressed at that point, they eventually drop out or become "that kid" in middle and high school. Many join gangs b/c they need protection and a "family."

So, my brilliant friend, this is one example of rage caused by trauma. I can share plenty more at the high school level, but I'll simply end here. You can do your own research based on the information I've shared.

Was it also smuggled across the border? Who knows for sure? It could have been anywhere, and back.

Anyone wondering what made him so hateful and violent?

He was hateful and violent enough that he failed a background check and still was able to get a weapon.

through a private sale, according to upthread

Write your senators right now.

https://www.senate.gov/senators/index.htm

Then call them too.

And tell your senators to ban knives. You’re much more likely to be assaulted with a knife than any type of scary high capacity rifle.
So scary to leave the house!

1. Universal background checks and registration of all firearms
2. Ban assault weapons/large capacity magazines with a buy-back program
3. Strict liability in tort for all gun injuries and deaths (except for self-defense) for the firearm owner, seller, and manufacturer jointly and severally and a requirement for each to carry insurance against this liability similar to automobile insurance. This will spur more rigorous background checks and safety innovation such as biometric trigger locks.

Love #3.

Sure, you can have your gun. But you have to pay for the damages.

Sorry. Constitution says no.
Americans should be able to own artillery and hand grenades.
That would severely limit government power.
