He had no expectation of a danger or was there a warning posted that one of the windows was open. They were docked so there wasn’t any ocean breeze either to alert him I am sure that after this tragedy there will be changes made. Perhaps the windows should be locked or changed to only open a crack or to post a sign to use caution.
What are you talking about? Haven’t you ever been in a high rise building? At that height there is absolutely a breeze.
I have never been in a high rise hotel with open windows.

So, no balconies? No open decks?

I guess I just don't understand how he didn't know the window was open once he raised her up there. Ive never been by an open window that I couldn't tell was open. And for her to fall out, he was extremely close. The second he realized it was open he should have brought her to a closed window.
I would be more understanding if it all happened in a split second like as he was lifting her he lost his grip and she fell. But that's not what it seems like happened.

Most occur from windows, rooftops and balconies. The only thing different here is that it occurred on a cruise ship. No more or less tragic, but the circumstances are not all that unusual.
Most of those the child likely accesses the danger themselves alone. In this case the child needed adult assistance to access the danger.
