GOP held the purse strings for 2 years. If they cared so much they should have done something.

Why complain about Ds when your own party DGAF?

The crisis wasn't 2 years ago. It's now after building for months and officials warning congress this would happen

It was a “crisis” a year ago when the GOP still had the house and the senate.

WHAT WAS SAID
What the president reiterated again yesterday, and he has said every day from when he sought this office, is we have a crisis of illegal immigration.
— Vice President Mike Pence, meeting with members of Congress on Wednesday.

“These smugglers know these rules and regulations better than the people that drew them. As a result, there’s been a 325 percent increase in minors, and a 435 percent increase in the smuggling or attempted smuggling of families and minors into our country.”
— President Trump, speaking to the National Federation of Independent Businesses on Tuesday.

“In the last three months we've seen illegal immigration on our southern border exceed 50,000 people each month. Multiples over each month last year.”
— Kirstjen Nielsen, the homeland security secretary, at a news conference on Monday.

Wrong. Orderly repatriation to their home country is all that is necessary. You are ridiculous

This is not either or. Even if what you want is orderly repatriation - from the moment you collect the children and hold them in detention centers while you await the orderly repatriation, you have to feed them, clothe them, keep them safe. The government is failing at this most basic, most important duty. The serious maltreatment of these children is either intentional or negligent, and either way it is immoral.

Well the ideal is a physicall barrier fro entry in the first place, but I was referring to what to do with the ones already here.

This is clogging up the system from people who actually need asylum.

There is no wall. That is not how this gets fixed. You want to talk about walls - and refuse to talk about anything else. And meanwhile, LOOK WHAT IS HAPPENING. This is happening in our country, on our watch, and you f*cking morons will only bark on about walls.

JFC you are like a dog with a bone but at least dogs are charming and cute.

Are you saying no compromise is possible? That Congress cant addres this by allocating more money for toothbrushes (and as we all know that the tip of the iceberg on money needed for these children) and more or a border barrier? Why one or the other? I'm curious.

Democrats offered money for the wall. Trump turned it down.

So let's just abuse children now. Richest country in the world. American exceptionalism. We set the standard for how things ought to be. Let's abuse children in jail because we can't find the money to pay for toothbrushes. Need to spend all that cash on Trump going golfing

More than $100 million of taxpayer dollars spent for Trump to go golfing. I think we can come up with some toothbrushes

https://www.newsweek.com/trump-golf-102-million-report-1432550

Actually we can’t. Trumps president. These kids are illegals, so...

I get that you hate the president however the president doesnt control the purse strings. You look like idiots bringing up golfing and Mar-a-largo when they have absolutely nothing to do with funding needed to address the crisis at the border that officials have been warning about literally for months. It's like arguing with overly emotional teenagers who know nothing but still want to scream in your face that you're a jerk.

And if Trump wins in 2020 it’s probably in part due to this behavior.

Again. Take a refresher in how our government allocates money. You clearly don't have a grasp on the basics.

The President presents a budget, the House and Senate vote to approve or not.

This is emergency funding. Because it's an emergency. The administration warned congress for months they needed this. Congress sat on their asses. Democrats did manage to pass amnesty the other week though while completely ignoring the multiple warnings people have them.

+1 But Jim Acosta says there’s no border crisis. It’s calm on the border.

And CNN isn’t #fakenews.

Link articles that say there was a crisis in 2017.

There are plenty that say immigration had dipped in 2017 before building to the cluster it is now.

Where? I totally missed it.

I’m in. Is there a group I can contribute to?

Ditto. I will contribute.

Where can I send soap to the guards who have to deal with these measles and smallpox and lice ridden illegals? They should seriously be washing their hands about 1000 times a day.

You don't treat human beings, especially vulnerable children, like this. And I don't care if they shouldn't have been presenting themselves at the border in the first place. You don't treat human beings like this. Especially not vulnerable children. I don't care if their parents are at fault for not keeping them in their home country. You con't treat anyone like this.

This situation is a stain on America. It needs to be fixed immediately.

https://apnews.com/a074f375e643408cb9b8d1a5fc5acf6a

A traumatic and dangerous situation is unfolding for some 250 infants, children and teens locked up for up to 27 days without adequate food, water and sanitation, according to a legal team that interviewed dozens of children at a Border Patrol station in Texas.

The attorneys who recently visited the facility near El Paso told The Associated Press that three girls, ages 10 to 15, said they had been taking turns watching over a sick 2-year-old boy because there was no one else to look after him.

When the lawyers saw the boy, he wasn’t wearing a diaper and had wet his pants, and his shirt was smeared in mucus.
They said at least 15 children at the facility had the flu, and some were kept in medical quarantine.

The children told lawyers that they were fed uncooked frozen food or rice and had gone weeks without bathing or a clean change of clothes at the facility in Clint, in the desert scrubland some 25 miles southeast of El Paso.

“In my 22 years of doing visits with children in detention I have never heard of this level of inhumanity,” said Holly Cooper, an attorney who represents detained youth. “Seeing our country at this crucible moment where we have forsaken children and failed to see them as human is hopefully a wake up for this country to move toward change.”

F&ck em. They can go back to Montgomery County or whatever sh&thole they’re from.
