Graves is only 49 and was elected in the 2010 tea party wave, so hasn’t been there long and isn’t that old. He also doesn’t appear to be running for the open Senate seat. Must just not like his first time in the minority?

Carpetbagger alert: Marjorie Greene, a Republican who has been running in Georgia’s 6th District to try to unseat Democratic incumbent Lucy McBath, has now pulled out of that race and filed to run for Graves’ vacant seat in the 14th. Jon Ossoff was crucified by Republicans when he ran for the 6th while living a few blocks outside of its border. Here’s how far the 14th is from the 6th:

The incumbent in GA-07 is Republican Rob Woodall, who won by only 400 votes and is not running again.
And Carolyn Bourdeaux, who almost beat 4-term incumbent Woodall, just announced she’s running again for the now-open seat.

Bourdeaux and Republican Rich McCormick won their contested primaries for Georgia’s 7th District yesterday.
Total Democratic votes so far: more than 50,000.
Total Republican votes so far: less than 35,000.

Wow this could actually happen. King’s primary opponent is awful also, and if he wins its kind of a shame because King is more flippable, but it will be GREAT to see the back of Steve King.
