Again, some more: stop laying any and all wedding-related decisions at the feet of just the bride. Couples make decisions about weddings together. Even if a bride wants something a certain way, and the groom goes along with it, he's co-signing that decision. He was involved. So if you don't like something about a wedding, stop being a mysoginistic asshole who only blames the bride.

I know it's easier to hate your SIL or DIL than your precious son or brother, but having a penis doesn't excuse them from the responsibility wedding and family dynamics.

I love children, from warm, squishy newborns to teenagers that I can sit and talk about the world with, but there is a time and place for them to be present, and that isn’t necessarily *always*.

I love children. I have two of them, actually. Children were invited to my wedding.

However, I've been to kid-free weddings, and they are fantastic, too! Not every wedding has to have the practically-a-family-reunion vibe. I was at the St. Regis a few months ago. It was champagne, gourmet food, exquisite florals and crystals, an amazing live band followed by a DJ and wilder dancing with an open bar. It was highbrow, black-tie dress, gorgeous, decadent and memorable. I'm glad I've been to that type of wedding, and I'm glad I've been to family-centric weddings.

Each couple should get to have their day their way. End of story.

I hope all of you bringing children are giving nicer gifts because your children are $$$. Even if the food is $50, their tables, place setting and everything else is outrageous.

No, it is a reminder that different people have different ideas about how to celebrate their marriage. Some people treat weddings as family reunions and make it kid friendly. Some people want something more formal and grown up. Some people think everyone is crazy and elope.

I have been to a good number of weddings where the receptions started at 7 PM. There were no kids there and people had a great time. I have been to weddings where the reception started at 5, we took our son for dinner and had a baby sitter to stay with him at his bed time. There were some kids and people had a great time. I have been to weddings where the reception was earlier in the day and kids were invited. There were kids there and people had a great time.

Just because people have a different idea of how to celebrate their wedding, and that does not include children, doesn't mean that they hate children. It means they have a different idea of how to celebrate.

If you don't want to go because you can't bring your kids, RSVP no and send a nice gift. Wish them happiness in their wedding and move on with your life.
