If I were Huffman's lawyer, I'd argue entrapment.

I don’t think you know what entrapment is ? Singer wore a wire , the feds likely wouldn’t wiretap without a warrant . Carry on.

Actually I do know exactly what entrapment is as I was a defense attorney for over a decade. The fact that someone wore a wire is not relevant. It could still be argued that Huffman was induced to commit the crime. Maybe you don't know that grounds for an indictment does not equate with actual guilt.

So what we have here then is a possible "bitch set me up scenario"....well that didn't work out too well for Marion Berry now did it.

Induced to commit a crime by who ? Where’s your law degree from ? The now defunct faculty of law at trump university ? ?

Loughlin's time has largely passed, but I think she has a much better chance of rehabilitating herself on a talk show or something.

I got such a kick out of seeing Felicity Huffman getting booked. No amount of punishment can amount to the public humiliation and shame that will be cast upon them. I also read that she asked if she could turn herself in vs. getting taken from her house??

The government was like NOPE!!!!! Come with us ma'am.

I'm totally enjoying this.

ah me too ! the audacity of it all. I mean she did look like sh!t, actually she looked like felicity Huffman as opposed to the pics of her with loads of make up on and aggressively straightened hair. In an industry where shallowness, backstabbing, faux smiles and circumstantial alliances are the norm she will learn quickly who are true friends are. #ByeFelicia

Something is seriously wrong with both of you.

Ok drive-by therapist just send me an email to remind me of my session with you .

You’re too far gone for any therapist to waste their time on. You are delighting in something that is such a first world problem that it’s ridiculous.

Yeah I’m sure you care so much about third world problems that you don’t realize that bribing your kid’s acceptance to college is classic third world practices .

Keep fuming sweetie, it’s a great look.

That’s it ? Rumor has it your girl put up the house for the bail , From full house to collateralized house . This is fun

What motivates schadenfreude?
Researchers have found that there are three driving forces behind schadenfreude: aggression, rivalry, and justice. People who experience schadenfreude usually have low self esteem.[citation needed] Seeing another person fail brings them a small surge of confidence. Whereas, seeing someone who is successful poses as a threat to their sense of self and seeing the 'mighty' fall can be a source of comfort.[4]

I'm guessing your glee has nothing to do with justice, but everything to do with the bolded.

Mighty ? She’s on the hallmark channel whose core audience is the nursing home and adult diaper crowd but carry on . Somehow you’ve convinced yourself that she’s some kind of victim here even in the face of wiretap , seven figure bail . Learn how to use words in their proper context if you want to be taken seriously .

I don't think she's a victim, what she did was wrong. I just feel good enough about myself that I don't delight in anyone's downfall. Your glee and prior comments are very telling about YOU. But you've made clear the issue, so I think we're done.

First off we can’t be done because we never were .
Second of all if you don’t ‘delight’ in anyone’s downfall that’s your choice but at the risk of hurting your feelings further it doesn’t make you a better person and you don’t get to tell anyone how they should react to the consequences that an alleged criminal might face. I’m as pasty white as they come and I can’t take you seriously on this because i KNOW that all too often had this been someone who didn’t look like you, the righteousness would’ve been deafening so cut the bull.
Third , I see you admitted that what she did was wrong . That’s quite the leap from ‘it’s just a first problem’ that you idiotically tried to peddle earlier . A first world problem is me being disappointed that Whole Foods ran out of my favorite yogurt brand as an example . A woman premeditatively bribing her kid’s way to college is never a first world problem . NEVER .

Lol. You realize you’re replying to multiple posters, right? That’s how forums work. I had to stop reading your reply to ME because you started referring another poster’s comments. Bye Felisha. Or Felicity. ?

That’s not how you use that term . *Sigh*

I hope they get the maximum penalty, fine and prison sentence. However, I think the humiliation alone is worth its weight in gold. I mean seriously...! How can she look at non-criminals with a straight face. Even Jussie Smollet is like... "damn girl. that's bold!"

Really? I feel like this is such a "little" crime. Who was hurt? Sure, maybe some kid didn't get in to his first choice school because the bribery-kid took his place, but really, he probably had similar back-up schools to go to. Let's be honest, we all push boundaries every day to make sure our kids succeed - most of us just don't have the extra cash they did to make it happen.

+1

It is a little crime in the grand scheme of actual violent crimes. It’s disgusting the amount of ppl who are delighting in the fallout.

A little crime... I guess it's a "little crime" because it's white people?!?!? I bet you'd be jumping on the band wagon to have the people below face the stiffest penalties possible. Sure... we all want to push boundaries to make sure our kids succeed. Tell me PP, are you willing to turn a blind eye to the single, non-white mother coming from MD to enroll her kid at a highly regarded DC public or charter school? I bet NOT. But it's ok when it's the white collar version of pushing boundaries. FOH!!!

Kelley Williams-Bolar - school residency fraud (her father's school district); investigators tailed her and they told her to pay a $30k fine, she refused and was indicted and convicted of falsifying her residency records. 10 days in county jail, three years probation

Olesia Garcia - school residency fraud, plea bargain, agreed to pay nearly $11,000 in back tuition in exchange for no charges against Garcia and a reduced charge and fine for her husband. Legal fees ran about $70,000

In 2011, Tanya McDowell, a homeless mother in Bridgeport, Conn., was arrested for sending her 5-year-old son to a Norwalk school.

In 2009, Yolanda Hill, a Rochester, N.Y., mother, was charged with two felonies after enrolling her children in a nearby suburban district.

I hope Felicity Huffman and Aunt Becky the book thrown upside their heads so hard that they cannot recover; personally or professionally.

First, calm ALL the way down.

Second, I’m AA so now you look like an idiot and race baiter.

Third, I don’t believe any of those ppl you listed deserved those harsh punishments.

Her other daughter wanted to be an actress and she had a good shot with her parents’ connections, but who will hire her now? Their formerly pristine images are shot. People are really angry because they are the symbol of rich privilege and entitlement.

My DH pointed out that they probably saw this as a victimless crime, and he doesn’t necessarily think they should do jail time.

They shouldn’t do jail time.

And you are overestimating the younger crowd who would be interested in the daughter doing the lifestyle brand. The only ppl who care about this are older ppl. Most ppl already know the rich are privileged and entitled. They follow those ppl bc they want to be rich and privileged. There is a reason the Kardashians, for example, can remain relevant even though they have scandals and are disgusting.

+1, this is a huge waste of resources to put someone in jail like this. Kids should get kicked out of school and parents should get fined or something but that's it. The parents are fully to blame and I don't get why you'd want to encourage your child into that lifestyle that her daughter is living. No good can come of it and she is doing that child a disservice by basically selling her body.

Maybe, they were interviewing some USC students on the news this evening. They were annoyed that "rich kids" were just being skirted in while they had to rely on their own hard work and preservation.
