My kid's coach told me that ASA has a reputation for not developing their players, but rather taking the shiny new kid from outside the club.

This really impacts the team's dynamics, so kids who played together for years are now playing with new unfamiliar faces. The team is not all that united.

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Just depends on the sex and the age group.

But I'll give them some credit, they don't always go for the big fast kids.

LOL this is the common complaint against every big club team. Just because you train with good coaches does not mean you will be a good soccer player.

Did you mean the other club in Virginia that went by the name Barcelona except they weren't affiliated? I don't remember the whole history. Here's the link:

winner winner chicken dinner !!!

I remember these guys, they marketed as a Barca trained staff. When Barca came to town, i'm sure they had issues with someone using their name. I recall them being a pretty dirty team overall.

They were told they could keep the Barça name but would have to come under FCB’s umbrella, so they changed the name to Doritos instead.some of their younger teams are pretty good.

They are pretty skilled in dribbling but absolutely no passing schemes or defensive shape. Even the goalies think they are Neymar.

tell us more, that's so refreshing. Until you posted, I didn't realize you're an expert on on everyone else's life and how they should live. Please continue so I can take notes.

Its so hard to choose whats the right fit. We literally have 8 clubs in our area that are all doable as far as distance goes.

I'm genuinely interested to know what the TD at LMVSC was doing for these teams he wasn't coaching that's making everyone want to leave. Our TD is never around our team and frankly, that's for the best.

Absolutely nothing since we never saw him. I think some are following the coaches who may be leaving and taking siblings where it applies. They are making lots of promises.

That’s not the case for the U14-U12 DA ASA teams. Those teams are almost all ASA kids. U15 boys have almost all outside players and are doing fairly well.

Are we sure they were ASA U9-11? Just one random sample: of the 17 rostered players, only 5 live in Arlington. Three are from Maryland, one (the President's son) is from DC, and the remainder are from all around the area - Leesburg, Ashburn, Lorton, Springfield, Fairfax, Alexandria. Hard to believe "almost all" were ASA kids before DA.
