How to mentally deal with the anxiety of my MIL has caused me for all of these years.
I need to learn this, please share
HA! Coincidence I clicked on this tonight or I’m on here way too much. Really DCUM has been like a therapist only better. I do not try to change her in any way. I limit conversations and visits with me but not the kids. I realize that as long as they are not hurt, which they won’t be, they will be FINE and that she means well even though she’s wacky and can’t say no to them. So I basically removed myself a lot but thank her all of the time for helping out with them, like she’s doing me a huge favor. That way she feels needed and I’m out of the visit. DH handles all of her gift purchases and phone calls. Best DCUM advice ever.
