They can trace that call to find out where it came from, no?

It depends on how he did the blocking. If he used a burner phone, probably not. But if he used an app or blocking service, then maybe depending on how much time went by before they got a warrant to obtain those records.

Some folks on Twitter pointed out yesterday that the grand jury hadn't met on a Thursday since the Thursday before the GRU indictment. This apparently caused CNN to think an indictment was coming and, therefore, they staked out Stone's house.
