Why so much hate because he doesn't want to date fat chicks? What is it with heavy women so sensitive when guys don't find them attractive. I'm 5 feet and about 110 lbs and don't find tiny little men attractive, so I go for tall guys with a nice build. Friend of mine is 200 lbs her DH probably 130 soaking wet and shorter than she is. It's all about preference, and that's okay. People are allowed to have preferences. Bigger gals need to stop thinking men who don't find them attractive are pigs or mean or shallow. They just don't dig fat chicks.

I completely agree with you- it's ridiculous that overly-sensitive people are flipping out because of one person's preference, especially when it's likely they have physical preferences of their own.

The only thing is, at 110 pounds and 5 ft, you aren't petite. You a short, but a husky, sturdy thing.

+1. I am 5'6 and 115 and skinny, but if I were only 5 feet and only 5 lbs lighter, I certainly would not be tiny. Most people confuse "short" with "petite."

My mother shopped exclusively in the petites section at her size fluctuated from a size 2 up to an 8, and I know that the sizes go up from that.

Oh my gosh, you have missed the entire point. Women's clothing stores have latched on to the word "petite" as a nicer way to describe "short." But no, petite is not meant to describe any woman who is short. A 5' woman who wears a size 8 from the petite section is not actually petite. She is short. The point is that when men think of petite women, they generally think of thin and small of frame. Not necessarily super short, and certainly not women who shop in the petite section but are short and stumpy. My best friend is actually about 5'6 but men comment on how pretty and tiny she is - she is small framed and slim but certainly does not shop in the petite section. American clothing stores have to make women feel better about themselves to earn business. Don't kid yourself that every 5'2 and under woman is petite.

In my observation (as neither short nor tall) that tall men seem to go after short women and short men seem to go after tall women (generally speaking)

People seem to be equating "petite" with "slender and small of frame" rather than "short." I would call Hayden Panettiere and Haley on Modern Family both petite, though they have different body types. OTOH, there are plenty of average and taller women who are slender with small frames - think of most actresses and ballet dancers, who are slender but not petite (which necessarily connotates short).
