There is a very interesting YouTube video that shows interviews with Trump beginning in 1980 and ending around the time he officially declared he was running for president in 2016 and he is so consistent about what he says through the years. The video made me rethink my decision to stay home in November. I showed my Trump-hating husband the video (could not believe he watched it because he HATED Trump!) and he said something along the lines of Trump being very consistent over a 35 year period. My husband is very cynical and doesn't change his mind very easily, so the fact that he watched the video and didn't say anything negative about Trump is a very big deal. Not sure if he will vote in 2016, but if he does, it's not going to be for Hillary. He thinks she is very corrupt and dishonest. He is also a minority and recently became a registered voter. This will be his first presidential election he can vote in. I hope he votes.

Consistency =/= someone who has identified as a member of the Reform Party, Republican and Democrat. Sorry - no. He has no position because he has no beliefs.

They're trolls. No thinking person who voted for Obama would ever, ever vote for Trump. Will Trump get votes? Yes. Will he win? Probably not. Remember how we were all going to be "so surprised" when Romney won? And instead it was Republicans, who had not then and have not now come to grips with the fact that their party is becoming a fringe party, who were terribly surprised and confused.

Why do you think that? Not everybody is as partisan as you are. I voted for Obama in 2012 but will support Trump enthusiastically in November.

Most liberals are very naive and one sided people. They believe everything media puts into their mouth.

And conservatives are deep thinkers. Who just happen to use the exact same words as their right wing media pumps into them.

Funny that you try to insult me as you're out trolling. No, no one who voted for Obama and his platform looks at Trump and his (ever shifting) platform and says, yes, that is the candidate for me. You probably will be an enthusiastic Trump supporter, only God can assist you there, but you never voted for Obama.

That's a bullshit response, and you know it. You "unload" on us and then don't provide any justification or details for why. Perhaps if more people like you shared your thoughts the rest of us would understand what the hell would drive someone to want to vote for Trump.

Please ......... there is NOTHING the OP could say that would be accepted by most people on this forum as having even a scintilla of logic because we are dealing with people who have their minds made up. It would be the equivalent of asking a liberal to offer their rationale for supporting Clinton or any Democrat on Breitbart - and expect those on that site to view the justification for voting for Clinton with an open mind.

I say this as someone who has voted consistently for Democrats for decades and will never vote for Clinton under any circumstances ....... and being lambasted by some on this forum for this position and for saying that I will sit out the election or vote for the Green Party.

The US and the world have changed a lot since 1980. Even the finest, most upstanding person has changed since then. Whether Clinton is corrupt and dishonest or not, it's not an indictment of her to say that her policies and principles have changed. I won't say it's an indictment of Trump that his principles haven't changed, although I think it does him no credit (he was a Democrat in 1980). His principles are of a businessman, a salesman. His desire to abandon our trade treaties, our allies, and our principles (the Geneva Convention) are very US-centric -- he's not a politician so he's welcome to his principles, but they are very unusual on the national stage. Are we to hope that he doesn't actually mean them?

I haven't posted on this tread yet and am not a troll. I voted for Obama twice and will be voting for Trump.

Why the hell would you support Trump, OP?

Didn't he just state blacks are lazy?
Mexicans are rapists?

What the hell is wrong with you??? On drugs?

Listen, I hate Trump. Mostly b/c he scares me and I think he is incredibly thin skinned. He literally ruins people who disagree with him. I have NO idea what the hell he stands for and definitely don't believe he is a good businessman.

I am not crazy about Hillary either. She's not going to set the world on fire, but she won't burn it down either.

So OP, why do you like Trump? How can you believe what he says since he was literally pro-choice and a democrat yesterday?

I think you have your candidates confused.

How? Per principles and democratic policies have not changed. Who the hell knows what he believes in.

Does per mean Hillary? Because if so, there's some fact checking you need to do.

This was exactly my thought. To say that her principles and democratic policies have not changed is akin to what Hillary herself said about her email - that she had no classified information on her server. Both are false.

And, you believe everything the media says?
That was a NY Times report - and we know who they have endorsed.
Yep, he is a disrupter. Hopefully we will finally get some things accomplished under his presidency.
