It's not just odd. It's deliberately being manipulative. According to this pp, we're supposed to equate the sick perversion of transgenderism with every day run-of-the-mill problems. It's part of the agenda

It's kind of like all the gay guys who go into the military to sort of prove to themselves that they AREN'T gay -- they go over the top trying to be masculine, but in the end, it doesn't work and they can't hide from their own inner voice saying "I'm gay." that was something that came out in the interview -- he jumped 100% into being the ideal vision of masculinity to convince himself that the female urges weren't going to take over.... but ultimately it doesn't/didn't work. It's like over-compensation.

It made a lot of sense to me. I was surprised it had been going on so long. I will always think of him as the Wheaties guy... all American athlete. Bruce 2.0 is going to be a totally different statement.

I am curious about the physical changes Bruce is seeking.

Like - why change your face, body, etc.? Serious question.
Is it to feel more like women he sees? Is it to achieve his own ideal of feminism? Is it to solely feel less masculine?

And will certain changes make him feel more like a woman, or actually cross over into 'being a woman' in his mind?

It's excellent and will help educate you on the issue, far beyond the Bruce Jenner interview. The documentary follows several different people on their journey, including one child.

It makes no sense. He was asked in the interview if he's gay. No, he says he's not interested in men. So now he think he's going to become a woman. If he's still into women then, he would be appearing as a lesbian.

(Of course he wouldn't ACTUALLY be a lesbian, because he will always be a man, surgery or no.)

I am wondering, PP, if Bruce and your friend's experiences have many parallels? What a huge decision (the final surgeries). I am confused as to how people decide to make the leap. Maybe it is hard to imagine unless you are in the middle of it all? So many steps, so much psychological preparation involved.

I know one person who has gone through it, but I kind of assumed there were other issues there. When she changed to he (in this case); her partner (a woman) took off and left her devastated. I don't know how she is faring now, but I hope she is doing fine.

Clearly not all cases are the same, I am just wondering about any similarities/differences in their decision making.
