Well said. It is a challenge to all of us to let go of our day dreams for our kids. Giving up the dream of a specific ivy... I wish I could have that problem.

No, I would not. DS wants to be an electrical engineer like DH. Those would definitely not be the best school choices for what he is interested in studying.

Actually, for an undergraduate, Harvard and Princeton are among the best schools for EE majors. Of course, if your kid can't get in, there are plenty of other engineering programs.



I'm assuming he will likely be going to GA tech, which is higher ranked, and where his father teaches. But thanks for your snotty and uneducated response.


Ga. Tech is in a crappy part of Atlanta and is a grind with unhappy kids. Who cares about the rankings for grad EE programs when you should be thinking about the undergrad school? Sounds like you have your head in the sand.
