The right to participate fully in the economy is the endgame. You shouldn't be able to discrimiante against someone in a business transaction for being gay, anymore than for being of a race that you don't like. If you can't do that in your business, pick a new business.

My "endgame" is that I want the longterm gay (and lesbian) couples I know to be able to be married, and have the same rights and responsibilities to each other as other married couples have.

I also think that gays and lesbians are a really teeny tiny segment of the population (at most 10%, probably much lower.) The issues are being blown out of proportion because they don't have rights; once they get them, I think it will shrink back out of the spotlight and/or blend in with the other people still striving for equal rights.
