Furthermore, people who spend their lives developing cures for diseases want to save lives. So what if they're Israeli? Does everyone fit into a little box?

When you are in the medical field you must consider the moral and ethic practices as you do research and development cures. I bet if this was a debate about boycotting and disinvestment of ISIS produced products, you would be all for it. Israel controls, kills, terrorizes and oppresses the Palestinians while reaping huge economic benifits.

But back to my question--boycott to what end? Apartheid boycotts were very clear to me, but this is not unless you have a very specific end. If it is just to "protest the treatment of Palestinians" there are also people on the Palestinian side behaving badly and not coming to the table. Would you boycott all bad actors until a reasonable deal was brokered? What's the goal?

The "goal" probably depends on one's motives. Being pro-boycott is on trend and likely to get you social standing and approval. It can be a mask for antisemitism. And it may come from legitimate concern. Maybe it's some of all of these or none of them. But the obsession with Israel by some is almost pathological.

The antisemitism accusation is often pathological, as if no one is allow to say anything critical.

NP. I'm dark, so I doubt I could live as well in Israel as I live here. Have you actually been to Israel. They really do treat dark people like crap. Going through the customs line to board the airplane are two separate lines, and it does not matter if you have a USA passport. Heck, they treat the Sephardic and Ethiopian Jews as second class citizens. The Black Hebrew Israelites like third class citizens. And the Palestinians aren't treated with citenzry at all.
