Not against it. Just sad to walk by it on my commute to school father away than the charter down the block. Very well aware that living near a charter does not guarantee access.

Didn't receive an email but called yesterday and learned that our son was admitted to K. Was told to email someone to find out the language but haven't heard back and no answer at the school today.

Ditto the metro. I'm all for carpooling, but with all the families that can easily walk to stokes getting shut out of the school, a shuttle, particularly from an area with decent schools already, would feel like salt in the wound.

Brookland metro/subway is 2 blocks from Stokes.

When we received the acceptance call on Friday, I was told we would receive an email by Tuesday with forms and instructions. So I assume we'll find out from the email tomorrow? I'm so eager to get something in writing...still in shock that we actually got a spot!

If you pick a language, are you stuck with it "forever"? Or do you have the opportunity to switch the following year?

If there is no space in the next grade you will not have the ability to move in the other target language. I have only known of 1 child that was able to switch but the transition was from PreK to K.
