He is not rich, by any means. We first met when I was 19 and he was 32, and were very attracted to each other, but never dated because we were both uncomfortable with the age difference.

Plus that half your age +7 bit has always been disgusting.

Yes it does. Baby-making.

when I was 37 I dated a 53 year old. And he was not rich. Lovely guy, really handsome and sexy, but I ended it because the age difference was going to be too great going forward. I'd say late 40s/50. But who knows, my other ex, who is 52, puts on his match profile that he wont date anyone over 38. Or anyone who has been married before. He is a 52 year old guy who has never been married and is not rich, and wants to find a slim, educated, blue eyed, never married woman between 28 and 38.
OP here. I'm actually a woman in my early 30s and have an ex that is 50 who is very similar to what this PP described above except he makes a good salary even by dcum standards. I broke things off because of the age difference too. I also have a Match profile and get lots of messages from men in their 50s, so I was wondering if it was more common than I thought.

Why?
Anonymous wrote:I personally think that the guys I knew who cleaned up with women in college, etc. could easily find women 25-30+ years younger than them if they were single again, while guys who weren't ever that popular with women would have a tough time even if they were rich.
