Agree (TGIF in my case)-- they need to specify that meal cannot be at an airport when you are traveling with teen-aged boys, who refuse to get a salad at Wolfgang Puck.

Also, I would suggest that the varsity letter question be refined to rule out country-club sports -- mine was from tennis.

More generally, though it was highly entertaining (thx for posting, OP), I would note a few potential flaws in the quiz which probably allowed me to squeak into this scoring category:
1) I could answer yes for the parade question b/c of college reunion parade ;
2) I answered yes to the question on domestic mass-market beer b/c that's what they had at gas station mini-mart when we pulled into Stowe at midnight for winter break ski trip (OK, I know east-coast skiing is so downscale, but it works for extended family trips);
3) I answered yes to the question on fishing b/c I accompanied DD to fish on dock of stocked lake at resort -- catch and release, of course, but very fun nonetheless; and,
4) I answered yes to the question on having a friend with very different political views b/c I live in this area where everyone talks politics for sport, so invariably you will have some friend or neighbor with whom you can have enjoyable political disagreements.

Can't wait to have DH take this -- he will rack up the points -- first-generation to college and actually worked on a factory floor!

Wasn't accurate for me. I got 33, and come from a working class family (although I feel comfy in middle class now).

11–80: A first-generation upper-middle-class person with middle-class parents. Typical: 33.
0–43: A second-generation (or more) upper-middle-class person who has made a point of getting out a lot. Typical: 9.

I watch a shitton of TV - but very few of the popular mainstream programs. I don't do reality TV - or most of the goofy sit-coms. The sit-coms I do watch are mostly the critically acclaimed, low ratings ones. I DID watch Lost and Desperate Housewives, though.

As for the military insignia, I'm married to a former military member, but am totally in the dark on the ranks and such. I'm sure he would have known if I asked him!

16. Lower middle/working class by DC standards (trash by DCUM standards!) at $75k HHI. But a two-PhD household, and my father was a college professor. I don't watch TV (although DH does). Couldn't remember if Jimmie Johnson was Cowboys (I lived in TX at one point) or NASCAR, but I knew I'd never purchased Avon! Lettered in Band. Not big friends with Evangelicals, although I've met many over the years. Worked numerous jobs in h.s./college that made me ache. Interesting quiz!

38 here and grew up with military parents and a strong work ethic. Now have HHI over $250K.

I scored 23. I guess if hating chain restaurants and American Idol makes me upper middle class then sign me up! Our HHI tells a different story at least in this area anyway.

This is actually partly why I scored high too, but I actually do think this puts us in a more "elite" category than a lot of stupid Americans who, despite the fact that they have low income, "waste" it on stupid cable TV and cars they cannot afford! I have limited funds but I choose to spend it to send my child to an excellent daycare, and we forego any television at home in order to help save $$. Kudos to us!
