OMG ~ older women who think they look good in shorts. Sorry honey, don't care how good a shape you think you're in, no one wants to see much of your bod.

Dear Younger Women: You look like hell in those baggy cargo pants with the T shirt. And your Yoga pants, wow, we do not need to see your camel toe.

As an overweight, over 50 person, I think the world approves of not having to see my legs in shorts. But, I really don't care what Tim Gunn or anyone else thinks of the capri. And if you are an older man -- longer shorts, please.

Anyone who thinks this is a better look than capris needs to back away from the bong. Good god.

Ditto with skorts, yikes!

I'm 42, 5'3", about 125lbs and finally found a pair of capris that work for me. True, it is hard to find a flattering pair, but they're out there.

I am a teacher and I wear them b/c my school has no A/C. We aren't allowed to wear shorts and skirts/dresses are not ideal for working with little kids. I am 5'4" and 120 lbs and I wear a size 4. Are they very stylish? Nope. But neither is anything I wear to school (or anything else for that matter). I get paid less than $50K per year so I don't have the budget to buy new clothes every year or two when they go out of style. I agree with a PP. Now that I am my age (38), I really don't care what people think of me. That is the gift of aging.

So in other words, you're underweight/anorexic, have no curves and look like shit in anything you wear.

Being a fat, middle aged woman, it thrills and exhilarates me to no end to think that you are so interested in my outfit. 13 pages dedicated to my choice of clothes is absolutely hilarious. Whether men look at me to drool or puke is neither here nor there for me. I enjoy capris, which I wear for ME not YOU. If you (Michael) are so turned off by fat, middle aged women in capris, goo' fo' yoo. I think I can live with that. In fact, I'm thrilled about that. Because in my several years on this earth, and indeed the internet, I'd bet my last piece of chocolate cake, that you are a middle aged man, still living in his mother's basement, trying desperately to make up for his shortcomings.

I can't see how capris look that terrible, they're not my favourite styles in woman, but can be worn with style and taste, unless really really overweight, but whatever makes you comfy.

Anonymous wrote:It pains me to say it, but I have to agree with OP - and Tim Gunn. Capris generally aren't flattering, and they do make me (5' 9''), and many of us, look a little stumpy. I still have almost a dozen, which I'll wear throughout the summer, but I'm not kidding myself that they look particularly good or chic. It's a matter of practicality and comfort.

Though I do have a black pair that is skinny and cropped right below the knee that I've got a ton of compliments while wearing. But that might be the mythical "good" length - and it's not even a length that's "in" this season either.

Thank you Tim! Now can you come over deal with my tweens angst, do the garden, fix dinner and attend a sports event?
