Has anyone read her book Bloom?

Everyone has their areas of strength in motherhood, and life. This blogger, whoever she is, might do certian things well, but you OP, do things well too. Don't count yourself out.

I haven't read through the 13 pages of this, or much of Kelle's blog, but I read her FAQ's

And honestly, I love what she has to say in that. She's honest about how she is showing the bright side of things, and that she is good at some things (like photography and crafts) and not at others, and different people have different strengths.

And I totally put on lipstick before most of my mother-newborn photos.

I have to say, I'm kind of on the fence. I've read her blog since Nella's birth, and while I love her writing and can even stomach the unicorn-ness of it all, it's the scary fans she's gained that bug me. Women who want to BE her. Women who pretty much stalk her on Instagram. One fan even said she was thinking of Dash (Kelle's newest) when she was trying to conceive her own child. She's going to get herself in trouble one day with a crazy fan.

No, but how many Moms wake up in the morning and do their makeup before they leave the house? She's allowed 15 minutes to do her makeup - get a grip. Not everybody has to look like shit while giving birth.

How many of you carefully applied makeup including eyeshadow and mascara when giving birth? The pictures of her holding her newborns (I only read the boy's birth story and the girl with DS birth story, I didn't read much else of the blog) are just unreal.

Did I miss the part at the hospital when you get your makeup done before the big event?

Meh. There's too many downers out there, the abundance of joy and happiness from her blog is a welcome change.

She addresses these criticisms in her faq. She's a former schoolteacher, I think positivity and happiness is a valuable trait in an educator and I would want my children taught by someone of the like.

I don't think anyone really dislikes her for the reason of "she's too happy." More like, they think she puts on a facade and hides the realest parts of her life, only showing the happiest moments, despite the fact she is only "famous" because she wrote about a very real, very raw experience in an open and honest way. Now she's just another regular old mommyblogger, hawking the kids' pictures for money. Cheap and tacky.

Maybe if she wasn't so interested in profiting off her SN child I would like her. I am sure she is a decent woman, but I do not have to like that she exploits her children. They have no privacy.

Despite my objections to exploiting children, I did find the story of Nella's birth intriguing. Every day, women give birth to children with surprise special needs. And, many women will share their story. But, Kelly's birth story is especially devastating and raw because she tried to prepare for this perfect birth in such a very obnoxious way. The obnoxious way many bloggers go about their life. "Make it look beautiful for the internet." You would think Kelly would have learned what is important in life from the experience. But, no. She spins it. She spins her daughter into a book.
