Ahhh!! All these waitlist movements but DC hasn’t heard anything from his 4 schools. Sigh 😔

That's pretty generous, actually. I've heard 48 hours from some places.

Reddit is saying Yale moved too. Compared to years past, it is unusual.

Maybe its bc they all cross-admitted?

my kid was off the Princeton waitlist last year on May 2. these schools know how yield is shaping up pretty early

Schools don’t “release waitlist decisions.” They maintain a pool of kids, sometimes literally many multiples larger than the pool they admit, so if their yield is way off from expectations they can fill the class. Emory offers admission (historically) to approximately 5% of those waitlisted and Georgetown approximately 6%.

Will all these be notified by May 15th?

No, as PP mentioned, technically until August 1 though most will be by mid-June.

For the sake of clarity, and sorry to be a rain could, for the more competitive schools, waitlist admission is a roughly 1 in 20 event. It happens but rarely. You should absolutely assume that your kid will attend the school to which they have already committed and move on. If the waitlist happens, great, but 5% is not a chance high enough to command focus and attention.

Last year waitlisted kids were notified until Aug 1 when the Common App flipped over to the next year.
