Seriously. It’s bizarre that people don’t realize this is a self-selected disclosure. I know a Visi senior headed to Harvard. Is she listed on Visi’s page? No, because she doesn’t bother with social media.


so? more than 100 students posted, we can assume the rest 20 goes to Harvard?

Once again, good for them. They will all have Sidwell diplomas and degrees from Brown University (and most likely be debt-free). Some people have all the luck, huh?

Note to self: If my Sidwell kids don’t get into Brown senior year, encourage them to transfer to Brown after freshman year. Thanks for the tip!


Yep. Also note that it’s pretty much impossible to get into Brown from Sidwell if you’re not a legacy or have a 3.95+. IDK why.

15-20% of each sfs, gds and a few other Dac area private schools attempt to transfer after freshman year. They literally apply as a transfer student this September. Then wait. Again.


Not 15-20%, but a good number of kids at our school transfer after freshman year to better schools. Maybe 5%? Have no idea what percent apply.

But then there are also kids that take breaks or transfer to schools closer to home and graduate in 5-6 years. That’s probably more like 5-10% of the class.

Transfer apps are really high this year. It's more competitive than round 1 even if you got prefect grades freshman year.
