It's either 2 or 3 girls from all of RL going to NL. They promised my RL daughter she would practice with NL. Not holding my breath.

I think there were 3 across all age groups for RL to NL. Then 8 to NL from other clubs.

At BSC it’s obvious because the kids from the different level teams have to wear different color jerseys. No random scrimmages. Still very hard to move up internally.

Arlington Parents, I am at a rival big club and our experience has been similar. Hardly any internal club kids moving up from Team 2 to Team 1.

We just went though tryouts and it become obvious what is happening if you look for it. The tryouts appear chaotic, but they are not.
Kids are divided up into random scrimmages, then the coaches already know who they want to look at based on the registration team levels. Any player from a competing club, who is on a 1st or 2nd tier team, they will get pulled for the top team scrimmage.
-But the clubs' own internal 2nd team and below players don't get pulled for a top team scrimmage.

Yes, everyone gets to go to an 'open tryout' but, but the tryout process is contrived in a way to only bubble up external players.

I am convinced if you want to move up a team level, you have to switch clubs for 90% of the players.

So at Arlington, RL kids aren't allowed to just show up at the NL tryouts? That's weird.

calling bs
with age change this year there were TOO MANY tryouts overall
all RL kids tried out several times with there correct age group
if your kid is "NL worthy" go get an a top team offer somewhere else noone says you have stay at your club

That's the Arlington way. They stress development but the moment U13 kicks in, almost zero internal promotions. Everyone from the outside.

one on my players teams (I have more than one). The one moving from RL to NL was age repeater with the new AG adjustments

I would have compared it to a “phantom poop,” where you know you’ve dropped one into the can but when you stand up to look, there’s nothing there. PRESUMABLY it has slipped into the magic pipe that takes it away, and thus is only hiding from you, but for a moment you’re confused. You think there is a there there but you can’t see it. On RL you think you’re producing quality soccer but alas your team and money have self-flushed. Know what I mean?

If these are Arlington RL teams, that what are other RL teams? Dying to know.

Not sure why Arl RL teams are getting so much hate today. If your DD wants to play good soccer but isn't at the ECNL/GA level, they can have a great experience on an Arl RL team.

Just don't accept an RL offer with the expectation of being moved up to an NL team.

Only Coach knows if they are getting offers or not. I guess we will find out come this summer.

They don't need a lot of new players at tryouts/ ID sessions as we have had a lot at practice before and after tryouts.

This is information you won't know about if you are on the RL team.

This. The tryouts are only a piece of the recruiting. It is done all year long. Tryouts only capture those few that do not know that they should have called the club and would have been allowed to do several practices.

By the way, on the board it was guaranteed last year that Arlington Girls would move to GA this year. What happened to that?

Either it’s a closely guarded secret or just a rumor.
