Congratulations! Tough admit, tough degree, and serving their country. That is 3 wins.

ChemE is very hard even for smart capable students. Important to persevere.

Wanted to hear from folks whose kids may have attended this school?

Weather is bad. Really bad - so the education and outcomes ( internships etc) need to make up for that.

We are OOS to MN.

UMN Twin Cities claims 93% CSE retention after freshman year which is good.

I cannot find the % of students who start in CSE and graduate with a CSE degree in 4 years. Ideally that 4yr graduation rate with a CSE degree (of those who start in CSE) would be 90% or higher.

I work with an EE from there. She knows her stuff. As a bonus she is friendly and helpful. Sample of one is not statistically meaningful, of course.

We also know a likely genius who studied math there. Studied PhD level math theory as an undergrad. Very glad she works on our team.

We live here. Wife graduated from there. We had 0 interest in them attending there and nor did they. That being said, it's a good Engineering program.

My son is at UTK for Nuclear Engineering. UTK has either the 3rd or 4th best nuclear engineering program in the country. MI, MIT and NC State are ranked high as well for nuclear. Vtech and UVA don't offer nuclear.

Most people working at nuclear plants don't actually have nukE degrees. Plenty of MechEs and EEs and ChemEs

Yep
