Only one party is colluding to vote against re-opening the government.

People will lose their jobs. Soldiers won’t be paid.

All of this can be avoided if Democrats vote their conscience.

I think we can all agree that nothing tops the Trump era GOP as far as awfulness in politics is concerned. I think we can all also agree that we have a very big problem with money and corruption within our two major political parties that we'll likely be dealing with long after Trump is dead.

Yes. Neither point negates the other -- they are both true.

Trying to walk into discussion of one of those points and derail it by yanking the thread in the direction of the other point is not arguing in good faith. It's not helpful. It just acts as a smoke screen that keeps everyone from feeling like there is nothing to act on. You can't focus on effective change when you are getting yoinked sideways.

So basically Trump doesn’t need to follow the law but shame on Dems for not behaving like he does? How many things has he done that have been reversed as unconstitutional by the Supreme Court (which is esp crazy considering how many MAGA justices there are)?
