Duke is impossible to get into unless you’re a top10 basketball recruit. Fantastic school with a campus right out of a Hollywood script.

I wish your very popular point of view made the schools my kids want to attend easier to get into.

No SECs alumni are as douchey, either,

Duke is in the ACC and Notre Dame might as well be. That’s big time football. And who gives a shit about “prestige jobs” that’s not what this thread is about. You can graduate from a big football school and get an excellent job — many, many do.

When we watch these big national football game experiences, my husband and I both agree that big football schools have their own kind upside and wish we had that opportunity when we were young!

It’s a joy that extends past your college years, too.

People that attended big sports schools remain connected by attending games, watching games on tv, and banter at work with fans of their school & rival schools.

For example, if you went to a Big 10 school, your life in Chicago offices will likely be enriched at work work by kidding grads of other Big 10 schools, at at bars that are focused on your alma mater.

What if they were a non-honors plebe?

Who wouldn't want to be a smart, good looking and outgoing Greek guy or girl at an SEC, Big Ten or ACC school? What a time and place to be young.

The world does need worker bees. So please, stay in your lane.

Anonymous wrote:Some smaller very good academic schools offer a great combination of sports and academics. Holy Cross and Colgate field more varsity sports teams than most SEC teams and their students integrate with the student body and both schools graduate their varsity athletes at 95% range. HC and Colgate don’t get 80,000 for a football game but their school spirit is high and in case of Holy Cross has one of the highest alumni giving rates in the country. Finally both schools are immune from the campus protests at the Browns and Columbias of the country.

Schools with highest alumni giving:

Princeton
HC
Thomas Aquinas
Williams
Amherst
Carleton
Dartmouth
Bowdoin
Wellesley
W&L
Centre College
Alice Lloyd

You forgot Notre Dame, which offers it all. Great football, academics, and inclusive Greek like life. And a football program that happens to be profitable.

I didn’t forget anything…those were the schools that showed up in the top giving rankings (maybe ND is #13?).

You think I just randomly knew that Alice Lloyd college (first time I have ever heard of it) was on the list…but “forgot” Notre Dame?

What is your source? First lists I came up with had ND at the top of the lists:

https://www.usnews.com/education/best-colleges/the-short-list-college/articles/colleges-where-the-most-alumni-donate

https://universitybusiness.com/these-colleges-have-the-highest-rates-of-alumni-donations-the-top-15-may-surprise-you/

Methinks you cherry picked the list.

Here is a list of some of the top-ranked schools for alumni giving, based on the information available:
Princeton University
Thomas Aquinas College
Williams College
Bowdoin College
Amherst College
Wellesley College
Alice Lloyd College
Carleton College
College of the Holy Cross
Centre College
Dartmouth College
Washington and Lee University

Again…do you think I have some ulterior motive to promote Alice Lloyd, Centre and Thomas Aquinas?

And I ask again, where did you get this list?

From Google dude…it’s the first result and supposedly aggregates from many different sources which is why it has some random schools.

This thread isn’t even about Notre Dame. If it was on the list, I would have listed it.

It’s about all schools, ND included.
