It’s an accolade that girls can tout to college coaches and college coaches don’t have much to go on. So it sucks for these girls and the clubs that didn’t put in the time to put in their names screwed them.

There was a 2011 Northern Virginia player called into a national pool camp in June and from Maryland. There’s a soccer wire article about clubs producing the most national team players. She’s listed. You people need to get more educated about this stuff if you’re going to talk about it.

There are plenty of USYNT players from this area. They aren’t the daughters of the parents on this forum though so they like to tell you that they don’t exist. They do though.

There may be some yes but the majority are just called up for other reasons other than merit. That is the reality. Again no real achievement here except some social media bragging. FVU avoided the drama since the favorites left anyway. Lol

Ugh pretty sure there is a FVU 2011 still on the squad that was invited to the U.S. Soccer Talent ID camp last year. They didn’t all leave and it’s a shame that FVU screwed her (and others) over.

If FVU didn't send any names in for 2011 would it have mattered? If scouts were looking at the team at any point last year and thought girls were good enough would their names be on the list?
coaches recommendation if said coach checks emails instructing to send in names. Also how bad they sucked last year isn’t indicative of this years results. Pretty much a new team. As far as scouts… there
Were none at scrimmages and the Arl game (which was a defensive stand and not too bad)

Fvu is blaming US soccer. May be some truth there as other teams are missing as well. Parents are digging for ground truth however… and if us soccer says otherwise im sure ill read it here first.

This is all nonsense. It is basically few prodigy kids recommended by their respective club coaches. Once they attend the session is where the scouts take a look. Until then it is all instagram show off.
prodigy in this area?! Ok buddy

Yes. Show me this scout who is hiding in the bushes washing some 2011 or 2012 kickball. We all know the clubs hocus pocus. No need to make it look like a legit call.

You’re a fool. Not in the woods. Sitting at midfield. It’s pretty common for the top teams.

Ok I am not saying there are not good players that deserve the call up. What you don’t read is that the majority don’t meet the standards of a national team. So don’t try to tell me they all got picked by scouts. They got picked by their clubs.

Yes, it’s nice to be selected but no chance any of these kids are making the national team soon anyway (I say “soon” because Carly Lloyd was a late bloomer). After the U15 age group there are no more regional ID sessions and it ceases to matter unless you’re one of the super super stars and you get picked for the national camp. None of the 2011s on FVU are that.
