sorry do you have a link to this?
Its ok I found it.
big D's. etc
I think there are two Goncalves sisters. One didn’t give a statement but her mom did on her behalf. She said the sister hopes he gets los of “D’s” in prison. People politely chuckled but definitely a bit trashy. I’m wondering if she’s still in high school.
The other sister, Alivia Goncalves, gave a really interesting impact statement. I guess you’d call it a “roast”. Very different than a typical victim impact statement. Her last line - “You want the truth? Here’s the one you’ll hate the most: If you hadn’t attacked them in their sleep, in the middle of the night like a pedophile, Kaylee would have kicked your f–king ass”
Yeah I understand her need to say this, but I'm pretty sure that pedophiles attack children in the daytime as well. The problem is, if the sending of insults is designed to make them feel better, they need to be better worded. I'm sure there must have been family liaison people at the court / in the policeforce who would have been able to advise on this.

But personally, I believe this person is a sociopath who feels no empathy or sympathy or any emotional connection to anyone. So any displays of emotion by his victims or victims' families just plays out to him as an interesting scientific experiment.
I believe this man murdered because he was fascinated by crime and he wanted to experience what it felt like, given that he's spent a life not feeling anything like normal people.
He's going to write a book in jail and it's going to sell.
Finally, if I had been a parent of a victim, I would not have given him any emotion, negative or positive. It would only be contributing to his real-life experiment.
Have you not heard of the Son of Sam law?
Criminals cannot profit by selling or marketing the stories of their crimes.
Found to be unconstitutional. Try to keep up.
Do you have any examples of recent murderers who have profited though?
Despite a change in law, is there any publisher worth their salt who is going to print this crap?
Probably not. And if he self publishes, there is no marketing budget to promote it
You need to provide some clear goalposts, i.e., recent.
That post says "recent". You're just repeating it, like its not there. Have you taken your meds today, grandpa?

The Goncalves family……..I’m torn because I understand they are grieving but I thought it was really classless (and quite a contrast to the other grieving families, to be honest) to include comments about prison rape in their statements. The mom ended hers with ‘You may have gotten all As in school but you’ll be getting Big Ds in jail’ or something along those lines. I mean come on…

You need to educate yourself about the costs of the death penalty to the criminal justice system - it’s 3-10x more costly to seek the death penalty and procure it than it is to keep a person in prison for life without parole well into their elder years.
Most rational law enforcement officers from police to prosecutors to judges know that the death penalty is a horrible waste of resources that could better be used fighting more crime. All the research proves it is not a deterrent to crime which means it is 100% about feeding the blood lust of some members of our society.
