the only problem with that map is that parts of PA and VA would likely want in...and what would happen to the college football conferences? Because that matters to a lot of MAGAs.

The big problem with the map is Colorado and New Mexico. They would want to join California but are cut off. Maybe a deal could be reached with Mexico for free movement? Texas has a very strong independent movement. They will not join California movement to Canada but would leave at the same time.

I think most people would be very excited and supportive of this.

The federal govt would block their airspace with the USAF, it would block trucking into the state to the east with the US Army, and it would blockade the entire western coastline with the full might of the US Navy.

I think you know that DoD, DAF, DON, and USArmy have large installations from San Diego, CA to Silverdale, WA. Those installations and all that they entail would become the property of the new government.
