Can't believe Northeastern mom hasn't shown up yet.
Anyhow, the number of US students applying to UK is increasing. It is not a big number, but it is an increase. It is interesting because UK unis need foreign students for the tuition and yet, their visa issues have decreased the overall number of foreign students applying to UK schools. But after Trump, that is slowly reverting since a lot of foreign students from India, China, Africa, etc are now refocusing their efforts in UK/EU schools just as Americans are also applying more often to these same schools
Actually no. The UK immigration put a stop on visas from China and other far flung countries, preventing many overseas students from attending UK universities. This happened about 3-4 yrs ago. The universities are now in crisis as domestic fees have not been increased and so there is more pressure to take US students who are unlikely to want to bring their entire family to live with them (the cause of the visa stops I mentioned).
Its good for Americans, anyway.

Admissions rate means better uni…..oh my. In the case Northeastern is 100x better than Oxford.
I don't know if they're myopic, but they are ignorant. The ignorance is based on the assumption that the whole world is structured and functions according to US systems and tropes. It does not.
