I get that they are just trying to make people quit and this just annoys me.

Our cafeteria hasn’t been open in years and our water fountains are all taped off with caution tape and warning signs about legionnaires disease. You must be working in private industry.
Let me guess, VA employee?
Nope. Ironically HHS.
Different poster here- I thought you were talking about my Department too! Interior. Our water fountains aren't drinkable, but not sure why. We figured lead.
Apparently this is really common in federal offices.![]()
It's funny but also incredibly sad. Bring your own water. Even if the cafeteria was open, would you even trust the food prepared using the building water or cooked in pots and pans washed with the building's water?
Not to mention the roaches and mice. I never ate at the cafeteria when it was open. Can’t imagine 5+ years of it being dormant have done it any favors should it ever reopen. Last week in the basement I saw the most horrifyingly large….house centipede, I think? It was long, tons of feathery legs. Yay, pets!

Sadly, I know exactly which agency you work for.
Everyone not close to retirement is looking for a position outside of federal government.
Maybe a Trump appointee can come visit and we can make sure he drinks some refreshing tap water.
