Teachers need to take charge of their classrooms.
Can you please tell us how? When admin gives ZERO support? I had two winners try out the newest TikTok challenge in my classroom and almost caused a fire. Why? They wanted to record it for clout. They were back after a “talk” with admin! So what’s the point when all these kids just do what they want.
Tell me why kids need phones while they are supposed to be putting their efforts towards their education??? I hate this job now. I really hate it. Having to police 30+ phones while teaching? It’s horrible. Phones are a BIG part of the problem. If you REALLY need to have 24/7 contact with your child keep them home. Please. You are just hurting everyone with your lack of awareness. We aren’t babysitters. We are trying to help your children. The LEAST you could do is think about the big picture and how this policy benefits the school system as a whole.
The Chromebook issue is unrelated to the phones. You need to talk to your admin and work with parents. Most of our teachers will not return messages. If is not phones it’s something else.
