Because it needs to be repeated:
Qatar supports Hamas. They also supported al qaeda.
Saudi is the breeding ground for most of the 9/11 hijackers AND killed an american journalist.
It is pragmatic to have a presence in the region. Iran is reason # 1.
But these countries are not our allies, not our friends, and you cannot in the same breath say college protesters are Hamas lovers while being okay with Trump accepting gifts from actual Hamas lovers.
Notably, Trump did not visit Israel, so the whole antisemitic smokescren is already dissolving

The two intended replacements aren't new, either. They were built in 2015 for the Russian airline Transaero, which went out of business before taking delivery. They sat in storage for several years.
