Of course not. I am on time, which means I arrive at the gate and do not have to sit down before boarding. 20-40 flights per year; haven’t missed a flight yet.
Great. So you are capable of bring on time. Now do that when you promise to meet friends at a restaurant. It’s rude and entitled to have them stand around waiting for you.

In American culture the norm is to be on time or maybe 5-10 minutes early or late due to traffic.
It is considered big time rude to be 30 minutes late or more to dinner nation the US.

I was once Spouse B. I am now on the same page as Spouse A because 1. It’s important to him and 2. It IS disrespectful to everyone to show up late. I would be ok with Spouse A for heading to dinner early if I was taking too long to get ready.
