I don't think it will be 54-60 girls from RL to GA... the skill gap is just too wide.
3 new GA teams. Girls have to come from somewhere. If not RL then where? NCSL/EDP?
ECNL
Maybe a few but nowhere near enough to create 3 new GA teams.

You’d be surprised. Current ECNL bench players have somewhere to go now.

I think there will be growing pains with the latter but the roster is shaping up nicely. DD also wants to get some college looks and chances of moving up to our ECNL team are very slim. What are the chances of getting good college showcases playing RL?
Yeah, no. If your player is good, have them play ECNL > (for now) or GA. Both are first teams. The second teams, on the girls' side, have abysmal differences with the top team. There might be a few decent ECNL-R teams, but most of them are not what you want if your player wants to improve. My DD plays ECNL.
If this is about the DMV, this is a no-brainer. Based on the number of teams this year vs next at GA and ECNL-RL/Aspire, it's pretty clear the best RL players will be jumping for GA spots in the handful of new teams and the 20+ RL/Aspire teams will have a step-down in talent and the greatest amount of dilution. If no pathway on your current club, no reason to stay. GA has built-in showcases which you will not get through RL and all things being equal, you will likely get higher tier competition as a GA team vs RL in larger mixed showcases like Jeff Cup.
This year there are 4 ECNL teams and 3 GA in NOVA. Next year it is 3 ECNL and 7 GA. That means approximately the top 54-60 RL girls will go GA. I just can’t see the RL at any age group being high level. I’m sure there will be an RL team here or there that is really good but then you are winning all games by 5,6,7 or more goals.

Most GA teams have 3 team practices, 1 strength/agility, and 1 film session a week. I don’t think most RL teams do that much. So while your RL team might be better today, which scenario will make your DD better a year from now?
