Yes. I already feel safer now that the border is closed and criminals are being removed. His economic policies will take time to erase the damage of Biden, but cutting wasteful spending, eliminating the bloated government bureaucracy, reducing regulations and extending his tax cuts will be good for the country.

Yes. Trump/Musk aren't "scaring me". They have nearly eliminated the rule of law and the Republican-controlled Congress is rolling over and letting them violate the Constitution every day. They keep pushing the limits and getting no consequences.
The lack of safeguards is what scares me. What would be the final straw? Very hard to say. I personally cannot leave right now because I am caring for elderly and disabled family members who do not have the ability to move abroad. But I am working very hard to be able to send my adult children to a safer place where the rule of law has been less affected.

I’m in a position where I could legally move to another country and work.
The problem is that, once we have serious problems, the doors will bang shut. There are just too many Americans, Putin has invested too much money in demonizing us, and we do stupid things that make ourselves more unpopular.
So, I could escape and have the necessities of life, but I’d never be accepted or comfortable.
Few people without family ties will be able to escape, and most who manage to escape will live sad, stunted lives.
Because of what the end of America would do to democracies all around the world, even if Americans manage to get by in countries with free elections, there won’t be any such thing as our children truly integrating in those societies. Even if our children become citizens in these other countries, they’ll still be despised American outsiders.
You do realise people immigrate to other countries and become citizens and integrate all the time? Canada, Australia, New Zealand, UK, Ireland. If anything, the fact you’re native English speakers would make it easier than for many.

My sister just moved to an EU county for non-political reasons. We plan to visit for an extended time next year. If we like it, and things escalate here, we will move. We have a daughter with disability who requires a lot of care. If her Medicaid is cut we will move.

This is one of the stupidest things I have ever read on this site. No country is going to accept asylum seekers from the US.
I wouldn’t be so sure. I could see that there could an outflow of “refugees” from the US. People that are being discriminated against or oppressed, possibly threatened.
The thing is, there is going to be brain drain from red states to blue states, and blues states internationally. I think that a lot of countries would be more than willing. It’s not like we are trying to ship Trump voters over there
Sure but right now the brain drain is from blue to red. The red states are picking up companies and people.
That's because states like Texas touted places like Austin ( a little spot of blue) . With Trump 2.0 only the delusional are thinking they are going to be okay in a red state.
Oh and don't get me started on places like Alabama. Trump just gutted it's intellectual core.
I actually just found out about some really interesting climate resiliency work U of A did that would make lower income communities in the state more insurable. I'm sure that will be the first thing to go.

It certainly is. I got a UK passport through my grandmother.
My point was that "grandparent citizenship" is a term that someone posting on here made up to describe "citizenship by decent/ancestry." Saying you have or can get "grandparent citizenship" makes you sound ridiculous. My family has citizenship by decent, so I'm familiar with both the concept and the correct terminology.
